It’s never been easier to get involved

Pella — In an effort to make sure that local residents are registered to vote in the upcoming election, Pella Cooperative Electric, has placed a link on their homepage that will help co-op members and the general public to register to vote, obtain an absentee ballot and find their polling place.

According to CEO John Smith, “We, along with electric cooperatives across the country, are encouraging our member-owners to get involved in the political process. I recall a quote from former President Thomas Jefferson which I will paraphrase – We don’t have government by the majority, but by the majority that gets involved.”

“The right to vote is a precious gift. Promoting our civic duty is the right thing to do and a way to get everyone involved in the community in which they live,” said Smith.

Pella Cooperative Electric, hopes this outreach effort encourages more people to head to the polls and make their voices heard on November 6, 2012.
