The Pella Chronicle
---- — There’s always something happening at Lake Red Rock! Check out these upcoming activities:
“Cold-Blooded” Critters: Ectotherms of Iowa: Friday, August 2 - 1:00 p.m. - Red Rock Visitor Center
Join the Pella Wildlife Company for a look at some of Iowa’s “cold-blooded” animals (scientists call the Ectotherms) that depend on nature and their behavior to adjust their body temperature!
Pond Exploration: Saturday, August 3 - 10:00 a.m. - South Tailwater Recreation Area
Go “mucking” in one of the lake area’s wetlands! Dip nets and tubs will be available for you to try and catch some of the critters swimming and crawling in and around the area! Mucking can be messy, so please wear old clothes and shoes.
Kids’ Craft Day: Wednesday, August 7 - 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. - Red Rock Visitor Center
Got creative kids? Bring your young artists to enjoy make - and - take nature craft activities! Crafts provided in partnership with the Red Rock Arts Alliance.
