Van Maanen, Sietstra & Meyer, PC, Certified Public Accountants recently released an audit report on the City of Pella in Pella, Iowa.
The City's revenues totaled $42,948,004 for the year ended June 30, 2012, a 34.9% increase from the prior year. Revenues included $3,804,765 in property tax, $1,500,001 for tax increment financing revenues, $23,170,886 from charges for service, $1,064,345 from operating grants, contributions and restricted interest, $893,637 from capital grants, contributions and restricted interest, $1,350,972 from local option sales tax, $102,590 from unrestricted investment earnings, $9,809,265 from gain on sale of assets and $1,251,543 from other general revenues.
Expenses for City operations totaled $31,964,820, an 8.9% increase from the previous year. Expenses included $2,217,756 for culture and recreation, $1,910,503 for public safety, and $1,808,141 for public works. Expenses for business type activities totaled $24,504,850.
