Youth Fitness and Athletics Facility to open in Pella

Pella Recreation Center, located at 111 SE 9th St., has broken ground on a brand new 25,000 square foot facility next to Work Systems Rehab and Fitness. The facility will feature 6 batting cages, a regulation indoor soccer field, 2 golf cages, 2 turf volleyball courts, and a fitness and athletic development training area. The new facility will be located on the property just North of Work Systems Rehab and Fitness on Southeast Ninth Street in Pella. The main focus of this new facility will be to offer training and fitness opportunities to youth in Pella and surrounding communities. In addition, the new facility will expand opportunities for adult fitness and athletics.

Pella Recreation Center will be the site for Game On Performance which will provide fitness and athletic opportunities for area youth as well as hosting adult sports leagues as well as CrossFit 424.

Game On will fill a void in youth fitness and physical development, offering programs designed to help kids be more active in an era when physical activity is declining and childhood obesity rates are increasing. Members of Game On Performance will receive age and developmentally appropriate training from skilled staff.

Programming will be targeted for kids age 5 through 18, with additional programs available for college students and adults. Through fun and exciting programs, Game On will provide an opportunity for youth to become more active and better educated on how to get and stay fit throughout their lifetime. They will also provide opportunities for athletes who desire to gain confidence and skill in a variety of athletic pursuits and to compete in leagues and tournaments throughout the year.

CrossFit 424 will launch soon at the current Work Systems facility and will move to the new building upon completion.

About Pella Recreation Center

Pella Recreation Center is a private company that will merge with Work Systems Fitness in early 2014. The new business was established to expand the fitness and athletic offerings in Pella and the surrounding area. Fitness programs currently running at Work Systems will continue with no interruption when the merge takes place.
