Vermeer achieves Gold Status in 'I Make America' campaign

The Association of Equipment Manufacturers (AEM) announces that Vermeer has once again joined the elite ranks of the I Make America campaign’s Gold-level company supporters.

I Make America is a national grassroots campaign launched by AEM in September 2010 to press for strengthened manufacturing policies needed to create more jobs in the U.S. and keep our economy competitive with other countries.

“We applaud Vermeer for their dedicated efforts to advance pro-manufacturing policies and increased job creation in the United States,” said Dennis Slater, President of the Association of Equipment Manufacturers (AEM). “Their active involvement in I Make America has played an important role in the success of the campaign. Their team should be proud of their achievements and we look forward to our continued partnership in this very important endeavor.”

“At Vermeer, we know our team members have a real, personal impact on our world in many ways,” said Vermeer Chairman Bob Vermeer. “That is recognized only when they have opportunity to connect with the people and issues that can help them succeed, which is why Vermeer is pleased to participate in ‘I Make America.’ Only with interaction between the hard workers who build equipment that improves the world around us, and the decision-makers who recognize the challenges in their constituents’ daily lives and careers, will we as a country be most successful. We appreciate AEM helping to bring that connectivity to Vermeer and our industry.”

I Make America Gold-Level supporters are an important group of companies that have achieved participation benchmarks marking them as industry leaders. Benchmarks can include significant employee involvement; outreach to their state, local and federal legislators; and promoting campaign sign-ups at trade shows and with allied trade associations.

The campaign has enlisted the support of more than 27,000 people nationwide, AEM’s 900+ member companies, and industry organizations.
