Sue Ann Drost

Mrs. Sue Ann Drost (nee Bulthuis), age 57, resident of High Point, NC was called home to the Lord on Friday, August 2, 2013, following a long battle with cancer. 
Sue was born in Artesia, CA on December 31, 1955.  She lived in Ripon, CA; Orange City, IA; Madison, WI; Los Banos, Laguna, Philippines; Wilmington, DE; Pella, IA; and High Point, NC during her life.  Sue graduated from Ripon Christian High School, Ripon, CA and Dordt College, Orange City, IA.  Sue worked and volunteered for many organizations throughout her life.  Most recently she was a volunteer at Westminster Presbyterian Church office in Greensboro, NC, and wrote the newsletter for the Church Cancer Support Group.  During her time in High Point, NC, Sue worked at Talbot’s, The Extra Ingredient in Greensboro, and Greensboro Sports Plex.  She also volunteered for Animal Rescue and Foster Program, Greensboro.  Sue was active in the local community and worked hard to support cancer survivors.  Sue enjoyed working with people, cooking, sewing, and spending time with friends and family.
Sue is survived by her husband, Dirk Drost; children Abigail Drost of Greensboro, NC and Derek Drost of Penn Valley, CA and Derek’s fiancée Natalie Stabenow of Penn Valley, CA.  In addition she is survived by her 2 brothers and 3 sisters: Peter (Lori) Bulthuis, Ripon, CA; Debra (Ron) VanEssen, Ripon, CA; Jan (Randy) Hartzell, McMinnville, OR; Keith (Pat) Bulthuis, Logan, UT; and, Lin (Ron) DeYoung, Denver, CO.
Sue was preceded in death by her parents, Raymond and Henrietta Bulthuis, of Ripon, CA.
A service to celebrate Sue’s life was held on Saturday, August 10, 2013 at Westminster Presbyterian Church, 3906 W. Friendly Ave, Greensboro, NC, with Reverend Butch Sherrill and Reverend Keith Bulthuis officiating.  
In Lieu of flowers, memorials in Sue’s memory may be made to: Duke Cancer Patient Support Program, DUMC-3139, Durham, NC 27710, or to Lisa’s Fund, c/o Fight Colorectal Cancer, 1414 Prince St, Suite 204, Alexandria, VA 22314.
