Cheryl Vande Haar

Pella — Cheryl Lynn (De Bruin) Vande Haar, age 55, of Eaton Rapids, MI, died peacefully at home with her family on Saturday morning, May 24, after a long battle with liver cancer.

Cheryl was born April 3, 1959, in Oskaloosa, IA, to Marvin and Jeanette (Beekhuizen) De Bruin. She leaves her husband of 31 years, Michael, and their three sons, John and wife Anna, Jacob and wife Jin, and Peter. She also leaves her parents, a sister, Joan (Dr. Tony) Kunz, and five brothers, Alan (Barb), Rich (Karen), Gene (Sue), Bruce (Rochelle), and Irv (Anne), and their families, and Mike's parents, John and Alice Vande Haar and his brothers, Paul (Lisa), Evan (Christy), Bill (Andrea) their families, and Grandmother Margaret Van Ee.

Cheryl began playing piano and organ as a young girl. She was a pianist and organist at her church. She taught elementary music at Lansing Christian School. Cheryl loved finding beauty in art, music, and the world around her.

She was a loving wife and mother who made time with family a priority.

She was a faithful servant of her Lord, Jesus Christ living life to the full in her 55 years.

Funeral services were held on Saturday, May 31, 2014 at River Terrace Church in East Lansing, MI. Interment followed at the Dimondale Cemetery. The Gorsline Runciman Funeral Home made arrangements. Memorial contributions may be made to River Terrace Church for a Worship Music Scholarship or to Lansing Christian School for the music teaching program.
