Vicki Key

Vicki Ann Key was born September 6, 1954 in Minneapolis, Minnesota the daughter of Frederick Millard and Margaret (Sorenson) Millard.

As a girl Vicki’s family lived in several locations including the Twin Cities, New Jersey, California and Chicago before moving to Ames where she graduated in 1972.

On May 19, 1973 she was united in marriage to Charlie Key in Ames.

The couple lived in Ames, McCallsburg and Mitchellville before moving to Knoxville in 1979.

Vicki had a life-long passion for quilting, knitting, sewing and embroidery.

She owned and operated her own computerized embroidery business for many years, and she was a very active member of the local Piecemaker’s Quilt Guild.

Vicki was also a wonderful cook and enjoyed preparing meals for her family.

Her greatest love was her family, especially the joy her grandchildren brought to her.

Vicki passed away on Tuesday, May 20, 2008 at the Mercy Hospital Medical Center, in Des Moines, at the age of 53 years, 8 months and 14 days.

Those left to honor her memory include her husband, Charlie; son, David Paul Key (Janelle) of Littleton, CO; daughter, Jill Amy Roozeboom (Tony) of Knoxville; 3 grandchildren, Faith Ryelle and Luke Anthony Roozeboom and Olivia Lauren Key; siblings, Sue Reyes and Jeff Millard both of California and Robin Graiziger of South St. Paul, Minnesota and many other family members and friends.

For those desiring, memorial contributions may be made to the Knoxville Public Library in Vicki’s name.
