Pella — Sandra Kay was born February 19, 1944, in Des Moines, Iowa. Her parents, Joe (Johannes) and Martha (Brouwer) Willemsen, lived northwest of Otley, Iowa.

Sandra attended grade school in Otley and graduated from high school in Monroe, Iowa with the Class of 1962. During grade school, she learned to play the piano and organ.

Following high school she attended the American Institute of Business in Des Moines, Iowa which later equipped her for employment.

She later found employment at the Vernon Company in Newton, Iowa, worked at the Otley Locker and then for Steenhoek Appraisal in Pella. Sandra retired from there in May of 2013, however, through all these remained a very loyal help mate on the farm. She and Ron were privileged to enjoy 51 years of married life together and enjoyed traveling and spending time with their family and friends.

She loved her grandchildren, playing cards and reading. Her pride and joy was also evident in the yard on their farm where she found pleasure in arranging planters in both the spring and summer.

On Sunday morning, January 12, 2014, Sandra passed away at her home near Monroe at the age of 69 years following a short month diagnosis with cancer.
