Marjorie Kuiper

Pella — Marjorie T. Van Zante Kuiper was born on May 22, 1920, to Lane and Minnie (De Cook) Van Zante in their farm home near Pella, Iowa.   She was raised there and graduated from the eighth grade.  As a young girl, Marge loved riding horses, an interest she maintained for many years.

On January 1, 1942, she was united in marriage to Harry Kuiper in Pella, Iowa.  To this union, three children were born: Harris, Loren, and Barbara.

Marge and Harry were involved in farming west of Pella until 1973.  Marge was a busy and involved housewife and mother.  She enjoyed baking cookies, making candy, crocheting, and quilting.  In 1973, Marge and Harry moved into Pella, where they lived in their home on Broadway. Marge enjoyed volunteering for the hospice organization and at the hospital snack bar for many years.

Marge passed away on Wednesday, April 10, 2013, at the Hospice of Pella Comfort House, at the age of ninety-two.

Marge was preceded in death by the following: her husband, Harry; her parents, Lane and Minnie Van Zante; her grandson, Vince Kuiper; and a sister who died in infancy.

Those left to cherish her memory are her children, Harris and Margie Kuiper, Loren and Anita Kuiper, and Barb and Jim Braafhart, six grandchildren, and eighteen great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Saturday, April 13, 2013, at the Third Reformed Church in Pella.  Burial took place at the Oakwood Cemetery.  The Garden Chapel Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
