Caitlin Miedema

Pella —

Caitlin Ann Miedema was born on May 11, 1992, at 7:50 p.m. at Pella Community Hospital in Pella, Iowa. She was welcomed home by her parents, Jeffrey Del and Sherry Ann (Lanser) Miedema and her sister, Amanda Rae.  Caitlin was baptized at the Third Reformed Church  and attended Playshop at the Second Reformed Church. She attended Lincoln and Jefferson Elementary Schools and the Pella Middle School.
Throughout her elementary years she played on city league soccer teams, on the middle school volleyball team and was active in 4-H for a couple years. Caitlin joined the middle school band in 6th grade and played the clarinet through her freshmen year in high school. During her freshmen year she went on the band trip with the high school to Florida and graduated from Pella High School in 2010.
Caitlin spent much of her time with her close friend, Cassie Clark, throughout her school years, yes, getting into trouble “occasionally”.   She and her older sister, Amanda, grew up doing many fun things with close friends Todd, Kristi, Jordan and Taylor Pinegar, like riding horse,  riding 4 wheelers and staying overnight in Albia, Iowa on Kristi’s parents’ land and camping at Howel Station with them.
Over the years she and Taylor became like sisters. Caitlin began working at the Hy-Vee Grocery Store in Pella at the age of 15 years and also held jobs at Arby’s, Subway and Casey’s where she made many friends through the years.  Caitlin loved going to family get togethers with the Miedema family and while growing up went to many car shows and on vacations around the country with her Grandpa and Grandma Lanser and had many fun memories that she talked about often. Caitlin went boating with her parents and family on their boat since she was a baby and has always loved boating and being in the water. She loved swimming with family and friends in the family’s swimming pool. She went on a Carnival cruise with her parents when she was 11 years old, to Mexico to the cities of Meridia, Cozumel and Belize and got to experience snorkeling in the ocean. In 2012 her parents made a tough decision to transfer to Aurora, Missouri with Pella Corporation. Cait soon decided to make the move also, so her parents came back to Iowa and helped her move last June, 2012.
