David Bowles

Pella — David S. Bowles died suddenly at his home in Greensboro, NC on January 4, 2014.

David was a 1980 graduate of Pella Community High School, in Pella, IA and graduate in 1984 from Earlham College in Richmond, IN with a BA in Biology.  David taught English in Japan and traveled in Thailand and other parts of Asia. 

He lived in Seattle, WA and Honolulu, HI where he graduated from the Institute for Clinical Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine in 2011.  That fall, David moved to Greensboro, NC to be nearer to family members. 

David was passionate about the use of Chinese medicinal herbs, acupuncture and food to create health and he generously shared that passion and his expertise with family and friends. 

David's life is celebrated by his parents, John and Gay Bowles, of Greensboro, NC; sister Sandy, also of Greensboro; sister Nan and brother-in-law Tom, of Beaufort, NC; brother James and sister-in-law Heather of Seattle; and one niece and four nephews.  A memorial service will be held February 22 in Greensboro, NC.
