Marion Lee Vink was born in Otley, Iowa, on March 13, 1941, to Grace (De Vries) and Gerrit Vink. He grew up in Otley and Pella, Iowa, graduating from Pella Christian Grade School in 1955 and Pella Community High School in 1959. He continued his education at the University of Iowa, commencing with a degree in Electrical Engineering in 1965.
On June 8, 1962, he was united in marriage to Carole Ruth Swearngain, the third child of Bert and Vera (Lenig) Swearngain at First Christian Reformed Church of Pella. He and Carole then lived and worked around Columbus Junction, Iowa, Honolulu, Hawaii, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, and Davenport, Iowa, before settling in Pella in 1975 when Marion began working for the Veterans Administration Hospital in Knoxville, Iowa. He continued working there as a Project Engineer until his retirement in January of 2009. In 1977, the family moved to a small farm near Tracy, Iowa. The Lord blessed them with four children: Nicole Renee, Chad Michael, Kelli Suzanne, and Angela Dawn. In 1999, Carole went home to be with her Savior after a 10-year battle with breast cancer at the age of 56 years.
In 2001, he married Marianne Nikkel Bruxvoort. They enjoyed traveling and being with their family. Marion was a member of Covenant Reformed Church, where he had served several terms as an elder and deacon. He continually pursued being a Godly and blameless man, frequently succeeding, and on April 22, 2013, Christ perfected his faith and called him home to glory. He passed away unexpectedly at Pella Regional Health Center at the age of 72 years.
Left to remember him fondly, are his wife, Marianne, his children, and their children: Nicole (Vink) and Terry Fopma of Pella, Meredith, Madison, Mitchell, and Morgan, Chad and Jana Vink of Pella, Elizabeth, Josiah, and Juliana, Kelli (Vink) and Tim Kruid of Pella, Kaden, Kora, Kendon, and Kollins, Angela (Vink) Alsum of Pella, Alexia and Grant, Anne (Bruxvoort) and Ryan Bandstra of Pella, Lucas, Mary Kate, Ethan, and Ella, Lucas and Lanae Bruxvoort of Goodyear, AZ, Brody and Macy, Kara (Bruxvoort) and Neal Brenneman of Sioux Center, Elsie and Beau, Eric and Sonja Bruxvoort of Coralville, Cole, Ava, and Cooper.

Among his many hobbies and duties were farming, boating & water-skiing, collecting firearms, being a realtor, and serving as President of Crown Broadcasting (KCWN), which he helped spearhead, establish, and contribute countless hours of labor. However, he found his greatest pleasure in Christian fellowship with his family.
