Ida Brusseau

Pella — Ida Lorraine Brusseau passed away Saturday at her granddaughter's home in Benicia. She was born in Pella, Iowa and lived in San Lorenzo for more than 42 years before moving back to Iowa for 12 years and back to California (Napa) six years ago.  She was a homemaker.

Ida was a member of the Nature Conservancy, the SPCA and Greenpeace. She travelled to Greenland in the early 70's on a sealwatch expedition, to Africa on a photo safari and was a former Campfire Girl leader.

She is survived by her children Dan (Patty) Brusseau and Jeanne Chu and her grandchildren Jenny (Jason)  and Christine. She was preceded in death by her sisters Melva McBeath and Mary Dewit.

Memorial services will be held 11:00 a.m., Saturday, March 15, at Passalacqua Funeral Chapel. Burial will be private. Family prefers donations to the Vallejo-Benicia Humane Society. Please visit the online tribute at
