Aldora Buwalda

Pella — Aldora Ruth Buwalda, of Del Mar, California, left this world on November 1, 2012. She was born on November 16, 1937, in Pella, Iowa to Andrew and Anne (Verros) Buwalda.

Aldora graduated from Pella High School with the Class of 1955 and then moved to Des Moines, Iowa  to attend the American Institute of Business, and worked at several firms and agencies.

In September of 1963 she moved to LaJolla, California where she was employed by Scripps Clinic and Research Foundation as an Employment Representative in Human  Resources and Operation Representative. She retired in September of 1992.

She enjoyed playing tennis, photography and traveling and was a member of the LaHoya Presbyterian Church.

She will fondly be remembered by her sister, Margaret Tapley and her husband, Charles Tapley of Claremore, Oklahoma, 17 nieces and nephews, several great nieces and nephews and friends. Aldora was preceded in death by her parents, Andrew and Anne Buwalda; her sisters: Wilma and her husband, William Eilander, Lucille and her husband, Gerald Van Andel, and her brother, Edwin Buwalda.

Her cremains will be inurned at the Oakwood Cemetery in Pella, Iowa at a later date.

Memorials may be made to the Cancer Research Association or the National Parkinsons Foundation. Van Dyk- Duven Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
