Driver's Urged to Drive with Caution

Pella — ‘Tis the time of the season. Not Halloween. Whitetail deer.

For the next month, Iowa’s whitetail deer will be more active and more visible to drivers. November is typically the month with the highest number of deer/vehicle collisions in Iowa. Three facts add to the increase: 1) bucks become more active during the peak of November's breeding period, 2) the harvest of crops find the deer looking elsewhere for cover and 3) the morning and evening commute for drivers is now intersecting with the most active periods for deer, sunrise and sunset.
