Pella Christian speech team earn sweep of I's at district individuals

Pella Christian High School continued their successful speech forensic season at the IHSSA’s District Individual Events competition on Saturday, March 1 at Tri-County High School in Thornburg. All 10 events entered by PCHS received I’s and a spot at the State competition on March 15 at North Scott High School in Eldridge.

The Iowa High School Speech Association (IHSSA) had over 40,000 students participate across the state at the District level. The Pella Christian team is coached by Lisa Van Gilst and Marlo Van Peursem.

PCHS students earning I’s at the District event include: Cory Van Gilst (Lit Program and Poetry), Breanna Terpstra (Prose and Musical Theatre), Courtney Griggs (Musical Theatre), Jordan Breon (Storytelling and Lit Program), Malia Beatty (Lit Program and Storytelling), and Jessi Vos (Prose).
