Marching Dutch Place 1st at Urbandale

Pella — The Marching Dutch began their competitive season this past Saturday, September 29th  at the Urbandale Marching Invitational.  The event was held at the Urbandale High School Football Stadium with eighteen bands competing in four classes.  The Marching Dutch placed first in class 3A and was the highest scoring band for all classes.  They also took top honors in color guard and percussion.  Other placing bands in class 3A were:  Oskaloosa – 2nd place, Clarke – 3rd place, Saydel- 4th Place, Dallas Center Grimes– 5th Place, Bondurant-Farrar – 6th Place, Carlise – 7th Place.

Their next competition is this Saturday, October 6th at the Valleyfest Showdown festival.  The event is held at Valley Stadium in West Des Moines.  Their performance time is 9:45 p.m.
