Dutch post 3-2 mark at home volleyball meet, record moves to 19-14

Mediapolis won the Pella Lady Dutch Varsity Volleyball Tournament Saturday with a perfect 5-0 mark.

Pella, Green County and Knoxville had posted 3-2 marks, while North Mahaska was 1-4 and PCM (Monroe) was 0-5.

Coach Catie Brand’s Dutch squad knocked off Knoxville 19-21, 21-12, 15-6. Pella tripped up the North Mahaska Warhawks 21-12, 21-17 and PCM 21-10, 21-14.

Pella fell to Green County 19-21, 17-21 and to Mediapolis 16-21, 17-21.

The Pella record stood at 19-14 on Columbus Day.

In the win over PCM the Dutch had nine kills from Makenna Bogaard, 11 digs by Taelor Rempe and eight each by Shannon Ewing and Mallory Lynch.

Regan Nelson had 22 assists while Rempe and Bogaard each delivered two ace serves.

In the win over the Warhawks Pella had eight kills by Ewing 16 assists from Nelson and 12 digs by Rempe and six from Kylie Roslien.

Lynch had three aces in the win.

In the win over KHS the Dutch had eight kills from Jessica Holterhaus and 14 digs by Ewing.

Jenna Murphy had three aces.
