Dutch fall to Grinnell in four

Pella — A 25-17, 22-25, 19-25, 26-28 loss to the Grinnell Tigers lowered the Pella High Lady Dutch volleyball mark to 7-12 for the season.

Pella fell to 0-2 in Little Hawkeye Conference play.

Pella Coach Katie Brand stated, “We lost our rhythm a little bit and couldn’t quite finish the play. Highlights of the night included a strong blocking presence and a tough tattle at the end of game four.”

The Tigers posted a 28-26 win in game four as they wrapped up the league win.

“We are continuing to get better and learn things every game,” Brand said.

Hitting leaders for the Dutch were Shannon Ewing with 10 kills, Makenna Bogaard nine and Anna Van Roekel seven and Jessica Holterhaus six.

The four Pella hitting leaders are all underclassmen.
