Regional Volleyball Openers set

Pella — Regional Volleyball Tournament sites have been announced for later this month.

The Pella High Lady Dutch will face a familiar foe as they travel to Newton to open the Class 4A Regionals Monday, Oct. 22, to  face the Cardinals. The match is set to start at 7 p.m.

The winner will be back  on  the court, Oct. 25, to play Solon in Solon at 7 p.m.

The Pella Christian Eagles will start Class 2A Regional 6 action Wednesday, Oct. 17 at 7 they travel to New Sharon to face the North Mahaska Warhawks.

The first round winner will advance to the second round to face the Eddyville-Blakesburg Rockets at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 23, at 7 p.m. in Eddyville.

Other regional openers for teams in Marion County include the Knoxville Panthers in Class 4A action on the road Monday, Oct. 22, to face Fairfield in Fairfield at 7 p.m.

The winner will then play Mount Pleasant Oct. 25, in Fairfield.

Twin Cedars will host Pleasantville in Class 1A Regional action Tuesday, Oct. 16,  at 7 p.m. in Region 8 play.

The Melcher-Dallas Saints will be in Class 1A Region 3 facing Grandview Park Baptist in M-D Oct.16, at 7 p.m.
