Oskaloosa — The Pella Dutch played the Oskaloosa Indians for the Little Hawkeye Conference championship last Friday night and walked away with the game, as well as a district title.
Sophomore Quarterback Noah Clayberg had a 66.7 percent completion rating in the air, including a 24-yard touchdown to Senior Ben Konfrst. Clayberg also got it done on the ground, scoring four rushing touchdowns and gaining 98 yards. Sophomore Nathan Henry was close behind with 84 rushing yards.
The Dutch capitalized on a fumble on Oskaloosa's first play from scrimmage to put them up 7-0. By the end of the first half, the Dutch's lead was 21-0.
Oskaloosa was 35 points behind before the team found the end zone. The Indians were able to reach the end zone with 6:42 left in the game to make the final score 35-7.
