Sopher - Eilers

On August 3, 2013, Laura Sopher, daughter of Cathy Gordon of Pella and Mike Sopher of St. Joseph, Missouri, was united in marriage to Daniel Eilers, son of Jerry and Diane Eilers of Humboldt, Iowa. The ceremony was held at the Iowa State Alumni Center in Ames, and was officiated by a friend of the couple, Reverend Brian Diebold. A reception followed at the Scheman Building of the Iowa State Center. 
Katherine Sopher, cousin of the bride, served as Maid of Honor with Bridesmaids Amy Coachman, sister of the bride, Johanna Puyear, sister of the bride and Lane Lucas, friend of the bride. 
Andy Joehl, friend of the groom, served as Best Man with Groomsmen David Eilers, brother of the groom, Tom Eilers, brother of the groom and Ryan Jwanouskos, friend of the groom. Ushers were Andy Harrigan, Craig Bonney and Matt Swenka, friends of the groom. 
The bride’s niece and nephew, Kayana Coachman and Brandon Puyear, served as flower girl and ring bearer. Marlene Wahlin, aunt of the groom, served as pianist and vocalist. Sundance Visser, friend of the bride, read a passage from scripture. 
Dan and Laura are living in Marshalltown where Laura is an associate attorney at a private law firm. She graduated from Iowa State University with a bachelor’s degree in marketing and Oklahoma City University School of Law with her Juris Doctorate. Daniel graduated from Iowa State University with a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering and is currently working towards his master’s degree in the same field. Daniel works as a senior research engineer at Fisher Controls in Marshalltown.
