Dutch Greeters welcomed cupcake bakery Cranberry Stone Bakery to the community with a ribbon cutting ceremony on Dec. 4.

Owner Sharesa Van Arendonk started Cranberry Stone Bakery five years ago, running the business out of her home. As her business began to grow, Van Arendonk and her family decided it was time to find a larger space.

“It’s always been a dream of mine to open some kind of shop,” Van Arendonk said. “I didn’t know it was going to be a cupcake bakery.”

Cranberry Stone Bakery opened on Nov. 25, and Van Arendonk says her first week of business was “absolutely insane.” She says things are starting to fall into a routine now.

“The support from the community has been just incredibly overwhelming, positively,” Van Arendonk said. “I feel very blessed to live here in Pella where people really do care and they want to help you out.”

Cranberry Stone Bakery will serve four standard flavors of cupcakes each week: strawberry cream, chocolate, white wedding cake and Dutch letter. The bakery will also sell two weekly specials of flavors, with the flavors changing each week. There are also sugar-free and gluten-free cupcakes available.

In addition to cupcakes, Cranberry Stone Bakery also sells lemonade, iced tea and coffee from Iris Coffee.

Cranberry Stone Bakery is located at 605 Franklin St.
