9 Lila's Boutique

Owner Michelle Gritters and manager Tiffany Bushnell celebrate the opening of 9 Lila’s Boutique’s new location.

Dutch Greeters celebrated the opening of 9 Lila’s Boutique’s new location on Dec. 4 with a ribbon cutting ceremony.

Owner Michelle Gritters opened 9 Lila’s Boutique two years ago. The business started out online before moving into a storefront location in Pella. Gritters says the business quickly outgrew the space, which is why she opted for a larger location.

Changing the location of 9 Lila’s Boutique gave Gritters an additional 400 square feet of space. Gritters, who also owns Digital Gallery and Designs, has been using the space at her studio to store merchandise for 9 Lila’s Boutique. The new location will allow her to now store merchandise on site.

“A big part of why we moved is because I warehouse at the studio,” Gritters said. “We’re hoping to do that here now, because there’s a back room here.”

9 Lila’s Boutique sells clothing that ranges in sizes from XS to 3XL. With the additional space at the new location, the boutique has also started selling vintage clothing. Gritters has added a soap bar to the boutique as well, which features Dutch themed soaps.

“The two new ventures have been taking off like crazy, but clothing is out main seller,” said Tiffany Bushnell, manager of 9 Lila’s Boutique and Gritters’ sister.

Gritters also owns another location of 9 Lila’s Boutique in West Branch. She says the Pella location draws in lots of business from people visiting town. Both boutiques also sell clothing and merchandise online.

9 Lila’s Boutique is located at 733 Franklin St.
