Union Street Players, Pella’s award-winning theatre group, announces the cast and crew for their summer musical, Disney’s “Beauty and the Beast.”

It’s a tale as old as time, a love story about a young girl wishing for more than the small provincial town, in which she lives, and an arrogant young prince who is being punished for his actions and has been transformed into a monstrous beast. The beast is given an enchanted rose and he must learn to love someone and earn their love in return, before the last rose petal falls, or else he will remain a beast forever.

All shows are presented at the Joan Kuyper Farver Auditorium at the Pella Community Center, located at 712 Union Street.

Production dates are Friday, July 26; Tuesday, July 30; Thursday, Aug. 1 and Friday, Aug. 2 at 7 p.m.; Saturday, July 27; Sunday, July 28; Saturday, Aug. 3 and Sunday, Aug. 4 at 2 p.m.

The cast includes Elise Pederson as Belle; Spence Vermeer as the Beast; Cory Oltrogge as Prince Adam; Mark Schaefer as Cogsworth; Lonnie Appleby as Lumiere; Denise Gregory as Mrs. Potts; Porter Haug as Chip; Lynn Cooper as Madame De La Grande Bouche; Jana De Zwarte as Babette; Brad Rozenboom as Maurice; Geoff Buchanan as Gaston; Danny Rivas as Lefou; Chris Brown as Monsieur D’Arque; Sarah Purdy, Sarah Maxwell, Rachel Hoard and Emily Cutler as the Silly Girl Ensemble; Riley Zylstra as the Young Prince; Cameron Knox as the Young Beast; Kaurie Marinkovich as the Beggar Woman/Enchantress; Jesse Nieboer as the Narrator and Piper Hastings as the Narrator’s Child.

Ensemble includes Ellen Schumann, Doug De Wolf, Chris Haug, Sarah Morris, Arlyn Stuart, Jim Emmer, Kalyn Oltrogge, Bella DeHaan, Phoebe Haug, Alise Haug, Lynn Cutler, Marissa Williams, Kaylin Vos, Kirby Van Wyngarden, Hanna Sampsel, Antonia Zylstra, Abby Dart, Kelly Dykema, Sarah Dron, Amaya Cervantes, Simon Vos, Dora Roorda, Ashley Uitermarkt, Hope Vos, Cameron Knox, Chris Brown and Josephine McDonald.

The Crew includes director Deb Linn; music director Kathy Haug; producer Denise Gregory; assistant director Marti Zylstra and assistant musical director Brad Rozenboom. The stage manager/set design is Jason Zylstra; stage crew is Simon Vos and curtain crew is Riley Zylstra; sound will be done by Mark Cooper, and Dirk Ryals is in charge of miscellaneous work.

Choreographers are Cynthia Beschel, Paulina Loaiza, Karen Ryals and Sarah Maxwell; Make-up will be done by Zarah Van Dyk, Rachel Hoard, Marti Zylstra and Lynn Cutler; Lighting Design will be done by Troy Errthum, and lights by Erin Helker.
