Five Pella natives graduated from Northwestern College at a commencement ceremony held on Saturday.
Rebecca Gritters, Dakota Schnell, Emily Van Gorp, Brant Vermeer and Mark Vos were among 224 graduates to receive degrees.
Gritters received a degree in Biology-Health Professions. Her parents are Matthew and Kimberly Gritters. Schnell received a degree in Elementary Education. His parents are Joel and Tasha Schnell.
Van Gorp received a degree in Psychology. Her parents are Jim and Diane Van Gorp. Vermeer received a degree in Political Science and Economics. His parents are Daniel and Tricia Vermeer. Vos received a degree in Biology-Ecological Science. His parents are Kevin and Robin Vos.
Thirty-two students received Bachelor of Science in Nursing degrees, while the rest of the graduating seniors were granted Bachelor of Arts degrees.
Rick Clark, a Northwestern College Spanish instructor who is retiring after 22 years on the faculty, gave the commencement address.
