G.I. Warehouse of Pella will be one of six recipients to receive a Small Business Award at the Seventh Annual Small Business Awards Ceremony from the Des Moines Area Community College.
The ceremony will be held on Tuesday, Sept. 10 at the FFA Enrichment Center on the DMACC Ankeny Campus. A cocktail reception and entertainment will begin at 5 p.m., followed by dinner and the awards program at 6 p.m. A networking and dessert reception will follow at 7:30 p.m. A portion of the proceeds will support scholarships for the DMACC Entrepreneurship program.
Categories for recognition include Most Innovative Company, Young Entrepreneur of the Year, the Dennis Albaugh Award (given to a DMACC alumni), Top Growth Company and Small Business of the Year.
G.I. Warehouse is a warehouse company that offers local and regional services, providing forklifts to load and unload diverse goods, controlled customer inventory and climate-controlled facilities. Dumpling Darling of Des Moines, Farmboy of Clive, LANE Trailer Manufacturing of Boone, Next Level Extreme Fitness of Urbandale and Peace Tree Brewing of Knoxville/Des Moines will also be recognized.
The event will recognize the achievements of these six businesses and their influential impact on the Central Iowa economy, while also honoring the work and success of regional small business owners and providing an opportunity to network and strengthen the small business community.
