The Historic Pella Trust received a Rolscreen Foundation Grant of $15,000 provided through the generosity of Pella Corporation.
The award will help fund the Tuttle Learning Walk, a joint project between the Historic Pella Trust and the city of Pella. The scenic walkway will connect north Pella’s historic Tuttle Cabin, located at 608 Lincoln Street, with beautiful Sunken Garden Park. The learning walk will feature both native plantings and signage detailing history of early Pella, its founders and predecessors.
The Historic Pella Trust has committed to funding the entire cost of the walkway, estimated at $195,000. After completion, the city of Pella will assume maintenance and care of the attraction.
To date, 70 percent of funding has been secured. The community is invited to help the Trust complete its fundraising goal by making a tax-deductible donation online at HistoricPellaTrust.org, or by mailing it to: Historic Pella Trust; P.O. Box 1; Pella, Iowa 50219. Construction is scheduled to begin this spring.
