July 4 Activities:

Swimming at Pella Aquatic Center

-Come cool off at The Pella Aquatic Center between 2 p.m. and 5 p.m.

Fishing at Caldwell Park

-Comstock Quality Tackle will be providing poles and bait at no cost for fishing in Caldwell Park. The community is invited to come relax and fish between 3 p.m. and 5 p.m.

Games, Arts and Crafts Table

-The Pella Community Center will be hosting an arts and craft table in Central Park. Fun games will also be provided. These are free activities and will take place between 3:30 p.m. and 5:30 p.m.

Plume Hill Horse Drawn Carriage Rides

-Horse drawn carriage rides will be provided in Central Park from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m.

Food Vendors

-Multiple food vendors will be available between 4 p.m. and 8 p.m. on Broadway Street.


-The Fourth of July Parade will begin at 6 p.m. on Franklin Street. The parade will start on East 1st Street and will end at West Market Park. The city asks that the public does not park on the Franklin Street parade route after 4 p.m.

Pella City Band

-The Pella City Band will perform on the Tulip Toren between 8 p.m. and 9 p.m.


-The fireworks display will be held at 10 p.m. Fireworks are launched from the East University Street and 240th Place intersection just east of Madison School (all of the Madison School property will also be closed for the fireworks show). University Street from East 13th to 240th Place and 240th Place will be closed before and during the fireworks show. Vehicle parking is allowed only on designated hard surface parking lots, please do not park on any grassy areas. In case of a rain out, fireworks will be moved to July 5 at the same location.
