Quintin Heath VanRheenen, 39, of Pella, is facing two aggrivated misdemeanor charges of enticing away a minor.

The charges stem from two separate incidents. On Sept. 6, between 12:05-12:07 p.m., VanRheenen allegedly asked a 15-year-old girl to get into his truck. When the request was made, the girl ran away.

Court documents allege that VanRheenan admitted to trying to entice the girl. He also made statements in the presence of police officers that he was interested in seeing, touching and having sex with young girls, according to police.

VanRheenen was interviewed Sept. 9, three days following this incident, but he was not arrested. He was arrested Sept. 25, when he allegedly tried to entice an 8-year-old girl into his truck. This young girl ran away.

VanRheenen fled the scene and was found by police a short time later.

When asked why VanRheenen was not arrested after the first incident, Pella Police say the only information they provide is contained in a press release sent last week. The release makes no mention of the Sept. 9 interview.

VanRheenen allegedly admitted to both incidents. His preliminary hearing is scheduled for Friday, Oct. 2, at 1:30 p.m.
