OctoberFest in Knoxville will be held October 11-12 in downtown Knoxville.

The goal of OctoberFest is for local businesses and organizations to collaborate and host their own mini events and specials that contribute to a collective, community-wide event marketed as OctoberFest.

On August 30, Atlantic and Pacific Pub and Candi’s Flowers organized a meeting to encourage participation in an OctoberFest in Knoxville. They have specific events already planned for their establishments, but would like the event to be a collaboration of many businesses. They are hopeful that once others see what they are doing, they will plan their own activities so everything is conducive and can be marketed as one single event called OctoberFest.

The main focus for Atlantic & Pacific Pub will be their BBQ for Badges contest, where local BBQer’s will begin cooking on Friday, October 11 to have their meat ready for the public to sample and be judged on Saturday, October 12. The event will be a fundraiser for local public safety organizations.

At the meeting, attendees discussed a current schedule and what opportunities there are for others to be involved.
