Members of the Pella Garden Club completed the celebration of their annual garden party by presenting a $15,000 check to the Pella Historic Trust for the future Tuttle Learning Walkway.

The Tuttle Learning Walkway will join two of Pella’s historic landmarks, the 1843 Tuttle Cabin with Sunken Garden Park, providing enjoyment and education both to Pella citizens and visitors alike. Children will become more familiar with Pella’s past and Native Iowa plants through signs and labels, which will be phase 3 of the project.

The Pella Garden Club raised over $11,000 through ticket donations, donor gifts, sales and sponsorships in June at their annual garden party. The organization also added additional funds to make the total gift.

For over 55 years, the organization has donated over $500,000 for city beautification, preservation and scholarships, along with countless volunteer hours.
