Round three of the post season Regionals saw the Pella Christian Eagles facing off against the Ogden Bulldogs in Ogden last Friday evening.

The 2A Regional was low scoring and the Bulldogs were up to the task as they beat the Eagles 3-1 to end the Pella Christian season.

PC reached the Ogden contest riding a four-game winning streak, their longest of the year.

Coach Karen Harrill’s team was playing their best ball at the right time.

Aided by an error the Bulldogs led 1-0 with a run in the second inning following a pair of singles to open the frame.

The Eagles tied the game at 1-1 with a run in the third. Danielle Vande Voort hit a single and moved to second on an outfield error and to third on a passed ball.

Vande Voort scored on a groundout off the bat of Natalie Harrill.

The game didn’t remain tied long as the Bulldogs crossed the plate twice in the fourth for the 3-1 margin.

A single by Reagan Church and four straight walks led to two Ogden runs.

Cheyanne Collins started pitching for PC, but was relieved by Vande Voort in the fourth. Collins took the loss in the circle.

The two PC hits were collected by Harrill in the sixth and Vande Voort in the third, both were singles.

PC was limited to only one base runner the final four innings of the game.

Ogden earned a spot in the 2A Region 2 Championship game slated for July 15 in Ogden against Earlham.

The Bulldogs carry a mark of 24-7 into that contest.

PC finished the season with a final record of 14-20.
