The Pella High Lady Dutch dropped both ends of a league doubleheader against the Oskaloosa Indians July 8 at home.

The Indians were victorious 5-2 and 3-1.

In the 5-2 game the Dutch were limited to only two hits by Oskaloosa pitcher Hayle Hacker.

Pella actually led 2-0 with a pair of runs in the first with RBI claimed by Courtney Thompson and Maddy Rempe.

Rempe and Maddie Parks each had one hit for Pella.

Suffering the pitching defeat was Parks who gave up six hits and five runs, one of which was earned. Pella committed five errors in the game.

In the 3-1 setback the Dutch had four hits, two by Parks and one each from Thompson and Kylie Tauke.

The game was knotted at 1-1 entering the top of the sixth when the Indians pushed across two runs for the 3-1 win.

Meghan Moorman hit a home run to pace the Indians.

Ella Corbin took the loss in the circle for Pella. She gave up five hits in six innings of work.

Hacker earned the win in game two by going the distance and striking out 10.

Winterset

The Pella season came to a close with a loss to the Winterset Huskies in the first round of Class 4A Regional action in Winterset last week.

Winterset entered the game ranked No. 10 in 4A. They scored three runs in the first with a three-run home run by Thea Banning.

Pella scored a run in the third and two in the seventh on a double by Brynnlin Kroymann.

Parks suffered the loss in the circle.

The Dutch end the season at 13-19 overall and at 5-16 in the Little Hawkeye.

It was the final high school softball game for Pella seniors who saw time in the game, Parks, Elly Cairney, Rempe, Alizabeth Van Dusseldorp and Sidnie Van Vark.
