Eagles win 3 of 5 in league baseball

Pella Christian split league doubleheaders with Indianola and Dallas Center-Grimes last week. In addition they edged out a narrow 7-6 win over the Grinnell Tigers at home to win the season series over Grinnell 3-0.


Against the Indianola Indians the Eagles won 5-1 and lost 10-0.

In the win the Eagles had only five hits, but eight walks they received helped out a lot.

Devin Haveman had two of the PC hits and Will Dembski had one hit, a home run as he drove in two.

Haveman was the winning pitcher as he fanned one and walked only two in four innings of work. Dembski worked three innings in relief and struck out eight of the nine outs he recorded in the contest.

In the loss, PC had one hit a single by Lawson Bruxvoort. Jack Anderson took the loss on the hill.


In the win over the Tigers, the Eagles had 11 hits, three by Dembski and two each by Cole Webster and Blake Veenstra.

Veenstra pitched the seventh to pick up the win.

PC scored six of their seven runs in the bottom of the seventh for the dramatic win.


In the split with the Mustangs, PC won 6-2 and lost 7-2.

In the win Dembski was the winning pitcher with 10 strikeouts.

The Eagles had five hits, three RBI were by Mathew Bokhoven.

Haveman was the losing pitcher in the 7-2 game. Haveman had two of PC’s six hits.
