Football season is just around the corner for area high school teams.

The Pella High Little Dutch will go under the lights Friday as they hold an intra-squad scrimmage starting at 7 p.m. at the stadium.

Cost of admission to the scrimmage is Gatorade. The Dutch will open the season the following week, Aug. 30, at home against Dallas Center-Grimes starting at 7:30 p.m.

The Pella Christian Eagles will also scrimmage under the lights Friday at home.

PC will face Des Moines Christian Friday for the football face-off to get ready for the 2019 campaign.

The PC scrimmage will start with 7-on-7 drills at 6:30 p.m. The varsity scrimmage will start around 7 p.m. with the sub-varsity taking to the field around 8:30 p.m.

Admission to the scrimmage is Gatorade. It is not required, but is appreciated to help with costs of drinks throughout the season.

PC will open the 2019 campaign on the road as they take on the Oskaloosa Indians, Aug. 30 at 7 p.m.
