Pella grabbed a 4-2 lead on the Grinnell Tigers June 17 in a Little Hawkeye Conference softball game played in Grinnell.

The Dutch weren’t able to hold on as the Tigers scored four runs in the bottom of the fifth to win 6-5.

Maddie Parks suffered the pitching loss as she twirled a 9-hitter at the Tigers. She fanned five and walked two.

Parks was also the hitting star for the Lady Dutch going 4-of-4 at the dish with a triple and one RBI.

Ally Almond had a double and plated two runners.

Also with two hits for the Dutch was Alizabeth Van Dusseldorp. Maddy Rempe, Brynnlin Kroymann and Kylie Tauke all chipped in with one hit in the loss.

Grinnell improved to 8-9 overall with the victory while the Dutch slipped to 8-10 overall and to 1-8 in the Little Hawkeye.
