Pella played well, but eventually fell to the Indianola Indians in varsity softball action June 20 in Indianola.
The Indians scored two runs in the second but were silenced until the seventh when they tacked on three more runs to make the final 5-1 over the Lady Dutch.
Pella’s lone run crossed the plate in the fifth inning when a single by Elly Cairney scored Alizabeth Van Dusseldorp.
Maddie Parks, Van Dusseldorp and Cairney each had singles for Pella, other than that the offense was shut down by the Indianola pitcher, pitching staff of Kate Kralik and B Tucker.
Indianola had 10 hits in the contest, two apiece from Gracy May, Diamond Mosley, B. Tucker and Kassie Baker.
Mosley was the hitting star of the night with a pair of doubles and three RBI.
Parks was the losing pitcher for the Lady Dutch. She gave up 10 hits in the seven inning affair.
Coach Teresa Thompson’s Pella squad slipped to 9-11 overall and to 2-9 in the LHC.
