The Pella High Little Dutch reached the Class 1A State Team Tennis Tournament with a pair of wins Monday, May 20.
Pella knocked off Mount Pleasant 5-0 and the Grinnell Tigers 5-2 to advance to the State semi-finals against the Norwalk Warriors.
Only four teams in each class advanced to State Team play.
The four in 1A are Cedar Rapids Xavier, Pella, Norwalk and LeMars.
State will be played at the Waveland Courts in Des Moines May 28 with play starting at 8:30 a.m.
In the 5-0 win over the Mount Pleasant Panthers, play never reached doubles action. The meet was stopped after one teach accumulates the needed five wins to advance.
In the contest with the Tigers, Pella won four of six doubles matches and then picked up the much needed win to advance at No. 1 doubles with Jordan Roozeboom and Jack Edwards taking down Lewis Jolly and AJ Wilkins 6-0, 6-3.
