PELLA - Kiki Pingel was among those receiving postseason honors for the Central College women’s track and field team this spring.
Pingel, a Pella High graduate, is a sophomore on the Central track team. She is a multi-event competitor and she picked up her second varsity letter.
In the conference outdoor meet Pingel was second in the heptathlon, fourth in the 4x400 relay and fifth in the 400 meter hurdles.
Multi-eventer Mary Gray (sophomore, West Des Moines, Waukee HS). Miranda Kruiswyk (freshman, Dunlap, Ill.) was chosen as the Most Valuable Newcomer Award while outdoor national qualifier Emily Burt (junior, Freeport, Ill.) was cited as the Most Improved Performer.
Lynzie Miller (senior, Des Moines, Lincoln HS) and Kiki Pingel (sophomore, Pella) were co-winners of the Dutch Spirit Award.
Gray and Kennedy Morris (freshman, Earlham) were named as captains for the 2019-20 season.
Coach Joe Dunham awarded 26 varsity letters in 2019.
