The NCMP swimming team based in Newton, qualified for the State Meet Saturday in Iowa City inside the University of Iowa’s Campus Recreation and Wellness Center.

The NCMP squad has qualified their boys 200 yard medley relay team for state. On that squad are two competitors from Pella High, Jacob Nedder and Eli Eekhoff. Nedder is a senior, who is making his second trip to State, while Eekhoff is a freshman at Pella.

The NCMP squad competed at the District Meet held in Marshalltown Saturday.

Entering the State Meet, the NCMP 200 medley squad has the 23rd best time with a 1:42.72 from District.

The 200 medley team was in fourth place at the District.

Odds and Ends

Carson Breon, a junior from Pella Christian, has also qualified for State competition.

Breon, competes on the Oskaloosa team. He will swim at State in the 100 backstroke. He has the 22nd best time entering state action with a 54.84 clocking at the District Meet. He was fourth in the 100 back at the District Meet in Ankeny.
