The Pella High Little Dutch finished the regular season in style by knocking off the ADM Tigers 9-6 in 8-innings in Adel Tuesday, July 16.

Picking up the win in relief for the Dutch was Parker Van Waardhuizen who went two innings allowing two hits.

Jason Knox, Mason Wittmer and Ben Akers also saw time on the bump.

Pella led 4-0 with a four run first. ADM charged back to lead 6-4 with all six runs crossing the plate in the fourth inning.

The Dutch had a little something left in the tank as they tied the game in the fifth and it eventually went into the eighth.

In the eighth Pella scored three runs to pull out the 9-6 win.

The win put Pella at 11-22 overall.

Seven of Pella’s nine hits came from the top of the batting order.

Tanner Dunsbergen had two hits for Pella High. Gabe Thomas ripped three hits, one being a double as he plated two runs.

Ryan Mace in the clean-up spot had two hits, one being a triple and he too drove in two runs.

Nick DeJong and Drew Hillman rounded out the Dutch offense with one hit each.
