Pella ventured to Indianola for a triangular wrestling meet Jan. 16.

The competition was strong as the Dutch fell to the Indianola Indians 64-15 and to Woodward-Granger Hawks 45-36.

Against the Indians, Pella picked up three wins, two of them were with pins. Peyton Ritzert (120) won a decision for the Dutch 4-2 over Cael Meacham.

The next victory for Pella was a back slapper for Ryan Van Donselaar with the fall coming in 1:01 at 145 pounds.

The third and final win of the night against Indianola was by Kody Huisman (220) with a pin against Andrew Wolff in 55 seconds.

W-Granger

In the 45-36 setback to the Hawks, the Dutch had six varsity wins, all were by pins.

Pella gave up six points to the Hawks with a forfeit at 106 pounds.

Ryan Hancock had a pin in 1:08, Ritzert had a fall in 1:21 and Logan Schroeder flatted his opponent in 1:15 for Dutch wins early in the night.

Two of Pella’s other three pins against Woodward-Granger were in the first period as Ryan Van Donselaar won in 1:15 and CJ Smith in 1:46.

Winning with a fall in 3:08 was Ethan Milligan at 160 pounds.
